Development for Corporate Teams
Corporate software projects fail for reasons that have very little to do with code. The requirements belong to one department, the budget to another, and the servers to a third. By the time everyone has signed off, the thing that was specified is no longer the thing that is needed. We have been working inside that structure since 1998, including for Credit Suisse, UBS, and the United States Postal Service.
Our answer is to make progress visible early and often. You get working software in the first few weeks and at short intervals after that, which gives the people who did not write the requirements a chance to react while changing course is still cheap. It also means that if a reorganization lands halfway through, you own something that runs rather than a design document.
Where we usually fit
- Internal line-of-business systems that the department depends on and no vendor sells.
- Integration work between systems that were never meant to talk to each other.
- Replacing spreadsheets and Access databases that quietly became business critical.
- Extending existing enterprise applications without waiting for a vendor release.
- Taking over stalled internal projects, which we cover on our project completion page.
When the vendor's portal is the bottleneck
Most platforms you buy arrive with an admin portal. It is built for the average customer, which means it is built for nobody in particular. It exposes what the vendor thought was important, it turns your process into a sequence of screens that were never designed to go together, and it knows nothing at all about the rest of your business.
One of our customers replaced the stock portal that came with their device management platform with one we built for them. Same devices underneath, different shape on top: their actual process is wrapped in it, so the steps their staff repeat all day take one screen instead of six, and it connects to the systems the vendor has no reason to care about, their billing and their reporting among them, so the data ends up where it is actually needed rather than being re-keyed out of somebody else's interface.
Under the old economics that was a marginal project. The vendor portal did work, technically, and "our people click through more screens than they should" is a hard thing to put a number on. It is an obvious project now. If your team spends its day in a tool somebody else designed, or moves data by hand between a vendor system and your own, that is precisely the work that has recently become worth doing properly.
How the code gets written
AI writes the implementation on every project we take on, with our developers directing the work and reviewing what it produces. For corporate work the practical effect is that estimates that used to sound like quarters now sound like weeks, which changes what is worth asking for in the first place.
It also changes what your security review is up against. The same capability is available to anyone who wants to probe an internet-facing system, so we test against an AI attacker before a release goes out rather than waiting for the annual assessment to come round. Why a past clean review is not reassurance.
Working with your constraints
We are a Microsoft Partner and most of our work is .NET, C#, SQL Server, Azure, and SharePoint, which tends to be what corporate IT already supports. We deploy to your infrastructure when that is the requirement, and we are used to change control, security review, and the fact that production access takes three weeks to arrange. None of that is a surprise to us and none of it needs explaining.
Staffing and cost
A US development lead runs your project and is the person you talk to. The build capacity comes from our developers in Ukraine. That structure is why our rates compare favorably with domestic-only firms while you still deal with someone in your timezone who understands the business problem. You are not handed to an account manager, and you are not the only client your lead can name.
If you are comparing several firms, our notes on comparing developers before you hire and on ignoring marketing pitches are written to be useful even if you pick someone else. The questions in them are the ones that actually separate firms.
